One of my favorite DIY creative sites Aunt Peaches gently nudged her community to contribute to the Red Cross for victims of the Japanese disaster. She offered a free coffee-filter flower for anyone who did so.
Then I read about For Japan With Love on Tara Whitney’s blog, my must-see every day for inspiration and beauty.
It’s supposed to be a day of silence for bloggers, but I never really considered myself one, so I am passing along the info for Shelterbox, a UK charity that provides emergency shelter and other lifesaving equipment to survivors of disaster. Each box includes a 10-person tent, art supplies for children, thermal blankets, water purification kit, multi-fuel stove, tools like hammers and pliers and wire cutters, and other essentials. 92% of donations go directly to the supplies in the box and deployment costs.
If you are able, please consider a donation.
